Semler family was famous of creating a high end needles for gramohpones. Hugo Semler and his family moved to Pislen house after the death of his father Simon Semler, and the house was reconstructed in 1930. Adolf Loos created a symmetrical look in these three spaces. Also he introduced a glass/ wooden sliding door giving the space the flexibility to be used whether as a private zone or as one big open space. During the second world war the house was occupied by the Wehrmacht in Pilsen, later the capitulation of the German garrison was signed at the end of the war, the property afterwards was confiscated by the Czech Army. Until 2002, it has been used by the Czech Army, and then both of the interior and the house were listed to be reconstructed and now they are occasionally accessed by the public on special events. Adolf Loos used the fantastico white marble with exotic black veins for walls cladding, and in the middle of music salon he designed a brick fire place with a mirrored wall above of it to give the room more depth. Elm wood was used for the built-in furniture and also for the wooden/ glass sliding door separating both of the music salon and gentlemen salon. Adolf Loos design in these three adjaced spaces which are: musical salon, gentlemen’s salon, and dining room was absolutely genius in which he used two main materials, which are wood and marble. The transition of materials usage between spaces was achieved smoothly. In this case study, after getting inspired by Adolf Loos’s design philosphy and absorb some of his concept ideas, I am proposing a reimagined spaces, where we can see these spaces being reflected in different eras, and being presented in different styled rendered frames. Furniture selections and lighting fixtures are chosen according to the space’s material board, and also inspired by the key design elements within the space that are already introduced by Adolf Loos.
